Update 9/29/2013: After many years, I have finally be able to go back and clean up the images for the rosary pages just in time for the month of the Rosary in 2013. I know there are still some imperfections, but there is big improvement. Be sure to download the updated files for cleaner images.

Looking for Luminous mysteries? This book did not have them, so see either Mary MacArthur’s beautiful coloring pages of the Luminous Mysteries, which are a similar style to these images, which are $5. Or see St. John the Baptist Church in Front Royal has some beautiful rosary coloring pages (originals), and include the Luminous Mysteries.

====================

These files are scanned copies of The Rosary Color Book, drawings by Ettore Fattori, Copyright 1949 by Catechetical Guild.

This little book contains beautiful pictures of the Fifteen Mysteries of the Rosary for you to color. They were drawn by Mr. Ettore Fattori, a well-known Canadian artist. This book will also help you to learn how to say the Rosary in a way that will be pleasing to our Blessed Mother.

Each picture shows a prominent event in Our Lord’s life. On the page opposite the picture is a short explanation which explains this event, tells what it means to you, and suggests how you should imitate this part of Christ’s life.

This coloring book was published in 1949, a long time before the Luminous Mysteries. I do not have any Luminous Mysteries to share. There will NOT be Luminous Mysteries to share here. St. John the Baptist Church in Front Royal has some beautiful rosary coloring pages (originals), and include the Luminous Mysteries. I also have found these beautiful coloring pages of the Luminous Mysteries, which have been recently drawn to be a companion of these pages. She is selling the images for $5.

Please note that these pages are for home and/or classroom use only.

To enhance prayingsnapshot rosary image the rosary, our family also has used a Rosary Box, and printable 3-part Rosary cards. Binder Rings keep the cards together.

We always use a a vertical display flip easel with vertical pages with the Rosary prints or the colored pictures (as described here). The images can be found here or purchased from various religious goods store such as CHC or Leaflet Missal Company or EWTN Catalogue. During our family prayers the children take turns turning the pages. They enjoy having a visual aid that is bigger than the little booklets.

Another wonderful idea for praying the rosary with the little ones was by Kimberlee at Pondered in My Heart, crocheted roses, twelve total, for a decade of Hail Marys, Our Father, and Glory Be. I use this rose pattern by Terry Kimbrough from Leisure Arts. I prefer using cotton yarn and have used I Love This Cotton and Lion Brand (available at Hancock Fabrics) for the red roses.

  1. Thank you for your gift for our children to learn through the prayers and coloring pages the life of Jesus. Patiently waiting for the completion of the Glorious and Luminous Mysteries.

May our Blessed Mother and Lord be with you.

  2. I found your site by accident. I teach Sacrament Preparation to middle school kids and I am alway looking for coloring pages that would be of interest to these older children. The pictures in these are gorgeous. My students have had no previous formal religious education, so during the two years I have them, I have to teach them the basics the first year, and then prepare them for their first confession and communion the second year. Thank you.

    • Cindy, it looks like these pages are great for teaching. I just thought I would mention that I would try and use coloring, though, as something that isn’t used very often for middle school kids. The little time we have with them in sacramental prep. is so precious and there is so much to teach! I only say this because I have been a DRE for 7 years and was a middle school religion teacher before that and this poor kids need so much teaching and I found that they didn’t respect the use of coloring and other things that are more for younger children.

Just the same, God bless you for being a teacher for these kids in the faith! And, especially middle schoolers!!! I’m sure they are very blessed to have you – the role you play in their lives is VERY important. You are the face of Jesus for them!

  3. I was wondering if you ever got around to adding more than the joyful and sorrowful coloring pages? I teach 1st grade PSR and would love to use your coloring pages in teaching the rosary and wanted the rest of them.

  4. Jenn, this is amazing. I will bookmark these for my four year old. It will be some time before she can truly enjoy them and I’m looking forward to it. Thank you and God bless.

  5. Oh, how wonderful! Thank you so much for doing this and making this available for everyone. I’m printing out a copy for both of my children right now.

  6. Thank you for sharing these. I teach twenty first and second grade students and to celebrate May each child is going to color one mystery. We may even get to desplay them in church on the day do May Crowning!

  7. Hi Jennifer,
I found your coloring pages when I was looking for some for my third and fourth grade CCD classes. These are beautiful and I am printing them for my class. I was wondering if you have the Agony in the Garden explanation page. I am showing on my screen two carrying of the cross pages instead of one of each. Hopefully, you’ll have time to check and post if you have the Agony in the Garden explanation page. My class will receive these on Wednesday April 30. Thank you again for the time and dedication you have given to this project. My own five children love these pages. There are truly none that I have found that are more beautiful!

  8. Looking for some colouring pages for my sons aged 5 and 3 I came across your site. I couldn’t believe it. When I was four years old I used to spend afternoons after pre-school with my grandmother who was a catechist. She had this book. I used to spend my afternoons tracing the pictures and colouring them in for her. My mother thinks it was the formation for my eventually becoming the coordinator of Religious Education at a large Catholic high school here in Sydney.

Yesterday was Mother’s Day here in Australia and finding these pages just brought back the most powerful memory I have of my dear grandmother.
    Thank you so much.

  9. Wow, I am so moved and thankful by the effort you have put into displaying my grandfathers drawings. I have the very same colouring book, among others, and I cherish every one of them. I think my grandfathers love of the Lord and Our Lady is apparent in his detailed renderings. His work honoured God and he would be humbled, that generations later, the talent that was bestowed upon him would still have a positive impact on the lives of children in the Catholic faith. Thanks again. Your site is wonderful and I will refer to it often.

  10. I love these pages! My sons are 2 and 4, and they color while I say one decade of the rosary. I’m hoping to work us up to more decades eventually, but the coloring gives them something to do while I pray! Thanks for your hard work!!!

  11. How beautiful!! Thank you for this site. My Brownie Girl Scouts are earning their Roasary Patch’s and your pages have been a blessing. They love them.

    Blessings,
    Allison and Scouts

Thank you again!

  25. What a treasure! I teach a girls’ group called Little Flowers, and we are studying each of the mysteries in-depth. The introduction page to each mystery is beautifully explained on a child’s level. Our girls will have a complete book that they will color and they can take home to help them better meditate on the beautiful mysteries of the Rosary. My hope is that by understanding them better more children will be able to enjoy this devotion.

  26. Thanks so much, my husband and I are in RCIA classes now and our 2 young daughters are 5 and 10. This helps us to teach them as we are both so new to it to. Thanks again, you helped us out tremendously!

  27. This reproduction of the Rosary coloring book is wonderful. I am making up some booklets for my students and was wondering if you have a color copy of the original cover. We are blessed to have a color copier and I would simply like to do justice to the original and make it “eye-catching” for the kids.

    Thanks for your time

  28. THANK YOU!!! I am a 2nd grade CCD teacher, & these are just wonderful to teach my class about the rosary. I love the old stuff, plus that an explanation for children to understand is there, too. Thanks again.

  31. Hello, absolutely lovely images and activities. reminiscent of childhood, though I’m a Catholic convert. Thank you so much. I’ve written an article featuring your blog and linking to it and your rosary booklet. I write for Associated Content and will publish this article on my blogs

    http://www.catholicactivities.blogspot.com
    http://www.freecoloringpages4u.blogspot.com

It’s so encouraging, judging by the number of searches and requests that I get for Catholic lessons and activities, to see people loving and living their Faith.
