As my time is short for our celebration and my German rusty, I dug up a few English translations on the WWW:
Making Lanterns for Martinmas and Lantern Walk Songs. I found the words to St. Martin, St. Martin from the first post easier to sing along to the melody.
Mama Lisa’s World. When I tried to sing with this translation, it didn’t flow well with the melody. I just couldn’t make it fit right, but the translation is very similar to what a friend loosely gave me.
